About

Our Mission

Outside of Iran, Los Angeles is home to the world’s largest Persian population. Yet, even though LA County’s rich mix of cultures is one of the things that makes Southern California great, it can often make it difficult for Persian children to hold onto their cultural identity.

Roughly translating to “Play and Language,” Bazi Va Zaban School was founded on the idea that no child should go without a strong sense of community, and a deep understanding of their cultural identity. Beyond ensuring that kids can speak, understand, and appreciate the Farsi language, our school allows children to know what it means to be Persian, and to meet other children that share their roots. We believe that the best way to set children up for a promising future is by allowing them to understand the present by connecting with their past.
